Perrysburg used a number of gymnasts to win the Tumble for the Cure team title on Saturday, hosted by Napoleon at the Northwest Ohio Gymnastics Academy.
The Yellow Jackets had 12 gymnasts competing, none in more than two events, and compiled a team score of 125.95 to hold off Liberty Center (123.8) for the title.
Napoleon is third (121.35), followed by Patrick Henry (120.65).
Hannah Molitor from Antwerp was the best gymnast in the all-around, with a score of 36.65. Molitor was first on vault (9.2), bars (9.5) and floor (9.2). She finished third on balance beam (8.75).
First on beam was Calla Oelkrug of LC with a score of 8.85. Oelkrug also finished second in the all-around with a score of 34.55. She placed third on vault (8.2) and bars (8.45) and second on floor (9.05).
Napoleon’s Paige Weaver finished fourth in the all-around (32.05). Weaver was sixth on vault (8.05), ninth on balance beam (8.1) and fifth on floor (8.65).
Ellie Rose of Tinora finished fifth in the all-around (31.05), followed by Alyssa Kruse of Napoleon (30.8) and Maddie Latta of Patrick Henry (30.75) and Gracin Vance (30.0).
Rose was fourth on floor (8.7), while Kruse was sixth on balance beam (8.2) and floor (8.6) and tied for 10th on vault (7.9). Latta was ninth on vault (8.0) and floor (8.35) and 10th on bars (6.9) and Vance was seventh on vault (8.05), tied for eighth on bars (7 .0) and tied for 10th on the ground (8.25).
Henry County’s other top 10 scorers were Napoleon’s Ella Cordes, eighth on vault (8.0); Reagan Rettig of Patrick Henry, tied for 10th in vault (7.9); Kenadie Leonard of PH, sixth on beam (7.7); Kaelyn Gerken of LC, seventh on beam (8.15) and eighth on floor (8.35); LC’s Aleeah Brown, 10th on balance beam (8.0); Napoleon’s Averie Shroyer, seventh on floor (8.6); and LC’s Lilah Krueger, tied for 10th on floor (8.25).
Napoleon will take part in the Northern Lakes League meeting on Saturday at Excelsior in Maumee, while the Lady Cats and the rest of the teams will take part in the district tournament on February 25 at Bowling Green State University.
