Linton set to compete on balance beam at NCAA championships

TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior Sirena Linton qualified as an individual competitor on balance beam at the National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships.

Linton is scheduled to compete in the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. MST and his performance can be viewed on ESPN2.

“Sirena has had an incredible season and playoffs,” said the head coach John Court mentioned. “It was one of his personal goals to finish the season in the national championship and Taylor launches did a great job with her on beam. She’s a great gymnast and even a better person. We look forward to her representing Arizona at the championships.”

Linton has been Arizona’s anchor on beam for the entire 2022 season and has posted a score of 9.825 or better in every encounter at the event. She posted a career-best 9.925 three times, including in the NCAA Norman Regional Semifinal last week to finish in first place in Session Two.

Linton was one of four people to qualify for the balance beam, joined by Adeline Kenlin of Iowa, Skyla Schulte of Michigan State and Abbie Thompson of Denver. She will participate in the first session of the NCAA championships and will rotate with Minnesota.
