Azerbaijani athletes demonstrate balance beam exercises at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup (PHOTO)


BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Azerbaijani athletes Samira Gahramanova and Milana Minakovskaya performed another routine as part of the second day of competition at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, Trend reports.

The gymnasts presented exercises on the balance beam. Milana Minakovskaya received 10.300 points and at the moment the athlete is in 20th position. Samira Gahramanova’s performance was evaluated by the judges at 10,100 points and the gymnast took 22nd place.

Athletes performed floor exercises earlier.

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup takes place from March 31 to April 3 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. Some 145 gymnasts from 34 countries are competing.

At the World Cup, Azerbaijan is represented by Mansum Safarov (floor), Aghamurad Gahramanov (floor, vault, parallel bars, high bar), Ivan Tikhonov (pommel horse, vault, high bar), Javidan Babayev (rings ), Nikita Simonov (Rings), Samira Gahramanova (Vault, Beam, Floor), Milana Minakovskaya (Asymmetrical Bars, Beam, Floor).

There will be qualifiers on the first two days of events, while the finals will take place on the following two days. In the tournament, the traditional “AGF Trophy” will be awarded to the gymnasts who obtain the highest score.

After three World Cup competitions held in different countries in 2022, the World Cup in Baku is considered the final stage. The best three out of four results presented in the four competitions will define the FIG Cup holders in the individual events.
